Best Diffuser for Aromatherapy
Diffusion of essential oils refers to a method of transmitting essential oils into the air within a specified area. The key goals of diffusing essential oils into the environment are:
- To effectively reduce the microbes in theair
- To alter mood and emotions
- To support respiratory health
Extensive research hasbeen performed showing the efficacy of essential oils in eliminating ordestroying airborne pathogens. One of the studies reported that the essentialoils of Cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) and Lemon (Citrus limon) hadbeen found to prevent the transmission of airborne bacterial infections whendiffused into the air.
I’ll discuss two types ofdiffusers in this blog:
- An ultrasonic diffuser is an aromatherapy diffuser that uses electricity to disperse essential oils into the air. They break the essential oil particles down into their base molecules which are negatively charged so they disperse by attaching the positively charged molecules in your home. Ultrasonic diffusers use water as a transference mechanism, but they do not rely on steam. Instead, the oil is on top of the water and ultrasonic vibrations are created to agitate the water causing the separation of the oil molecules and releasing the negative particles into the air with a fine mist. Ultrasonic diffusers release a lot of moisture into the air which can dilute the essential oils, so you are not receiving the full benefits of aromatherapy. In addition, a tank of water can quickly grow mold and fungus.
Professional Diffuser – Nebulizer differs greatly from the ultrasonic water diffusor and is more technical and appropriate tool to disperse essential oils into traditional and nontraditional healthcare environments. The electric micro-diffusor consists of two parts: an air pump and a hand-blown glass expansion chamber (nebuliser) with special internal tubes and baffles. As air is pushed from the pump into the glass chamber the essential oil ‘breaks’ against the baffles whereby the essential oil is discharged into the atmosphere in a fine mist of micro droplets.
It’s my favorite type of diffuser as it’s easy to work with and easy to clean. Diffuser-nebulizer is especially effective during colder months as a prevention of cold/flu, or simply to create an uplifting environment.
If you are looking for the best aroma diffuser on the market, you have found it.
